The Barker Historical Museum is also the headquarters for the Chautauqua County Genealogy Society. A list of the publications created by the Genealogy Society can be obtained on request. The Town of Pomfret lost pre-1880 vital records in a fire. Contact Roberta Valentine, Village Clerk, for vital records after 1880 at 716-672-7496 or write to: Town of Pomfret Offices, 9 Day St., Fredonia, NY 14063. To obtain a birth certificate from the Village of Fredonia call Lucy at 679-2303/2302. The cost is $10.
